In India, SHABRO is empanelled and is the preferred channel partner for established and leading steel producers in the steel industry. 1940

Beginning of Steel Era in Sharda Family – trading activities begin in central India by family forefathers 

1960

One of the largest Steel Re-rolling Mills in Central India, Nagpur set up by Sharda Family.

1978

Mr. Vijay Sharda, – is co-promoter in Raipur Alloys Steel Limited – EAF based steel producer at Raipur.

1994

Birth of Shabro Metallic Pvt Ltd. New Delhi- trading company incorporated by Mr. Sharda for domestic and international trading of steel products and raw materials.

1999

Beginning of ferrous scrap imports by Shabro from across the globe.

2001

Shabro concludes import of first BULK vessel of scrap and export of iron ore begins.

2004

Establishment of Chennai Office

2008

Technology Transfer Division set up for providing technological and equipment sourcing support to steel industry in India.

2009

Shabro achieves benchmark, 9 million ton iron ore export to China and maintained volumes of 8 – 10 MT during 2009-2013.

2011

Incorporation of SMPL’s wholly owned subsidiary in Singapore – Shabro International Pte Ltd.

2012

Shabro is part of consortium which establishes Blast Furnace in India for a major Indian steel producer at Goa 

2013

First import of Met Coke

2014

First import of Manganese ore in bulk

2016

Bulk Steel imports for India and South Asia commenced

2018

Export of Steel products in bulk – Shabro product portfolio and geographies gets diversified

2019

 First ever Export of 0.5MT Iron ore pellets, from India, commissioned through Shabro to Turkey

2020

Shabro adds two verticals –commences export of steel products from Middle East and starts import of Stainless Steel and non-ferrous scrap from Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Turkey, USA and EU.

2021

Domestic Trading in ferrous scrap is a new business vertical
